Dance Classes & Social Dancing Opportunities - Feb. 19 to Feb. 22

Hello Fellow Dancers,

Beginner and intermediate bachata lessons with Penn Social Dance will start on Thursday, Feb. 20 (7 PM to 9 PM) at Cafe 58, Irvine Hall (3401 Spruce Street).  Cost:  FREE with a current student ID; $5 per lesson or $20 per semester for non-students.

Salsa and bachata classes with Drexel Salsa on Wednesday, Feb. 19 (6 PM to 8 PM), will be at the Bossone Research Center (3140 Market Street).   

1.  Wednesday, Feb. 19

What:  West Coast Swing Dance hosted by UCSwing

Where:  St. Mary's Church Parish Hall, 3916 Locust Walk, Penn Campus

Time:  Lesson from 8:30 PM to 9:15 PM; social dancing from 9:15 PM to 11 PM

Admission:  $5 with a student ID; $7 for everyone else; FREE for first timers

2.  Thursday, Feb. 20

What:  Bachata Thursdays (21+)

Where:  Lucha Cartel, 207 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19106

Time:  10 PM to 2 AM

Admission:  $6

3.  Friday, Feb. 21

What:  Latin Dance - mainly salsa

Where:  West Philly Ballroom & Latin Dance, 4520 Baltimore Ave., Phila.

Time:  8:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Mini-lessons plus social dancing)

Admission:  $12.  No partner needed.  No experience necessary.  

If you have a PennCard, you can take Penn Transit (215-898-RIDE/7433).  You could also take SEPTA's 34 trolley.

4.  Saturday, Feb. 22

What:  Latin Night (21+)

Where:  Moshulu, 401 S. Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19106

Time:  10 PM to 2 AM

Admission:  $20 at the door.  Dress to impress.
