Social Dancing Opportunities - October 2 to October 6

Hello Fellow Dancers,

Latin dancing returns to LOVE Park this Friday, October 4.  If you'd like to dance closer to campus, check out the West Coast Swing dance at St. Mary's Parish Hall tonight or the Salsa Party at West Philly Ballroom & Latin Dance on Friday.

 

1.  Wednesday, Oct. 2

What:  West Coast Swing Dance hosted by UCSwing

Where:  St. Mary's Church Parish Hall, 3916 Locust Walk, Penn Campus

Time:  Lesson from 8:30 PM to 9:15 PM; social dancing from 9:15 PM to 11 PM

Admission:  $5 with a student ID; $7 for everyone else; FREE for first timers

2.  Thursday, Oct. 3

What:  Bachata Thursdays (21+)

Where:  Lucha Cartel, 207 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19106

Time:  10 PM to 2 AM

Admission:  $6

3.  Friday, Oct. 4

What:  Salsa & Bachata

Where:  LOVE Park, 1599 JFK Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19102

Time:  7 PM to 10 PM

Admission:  FREE

4.  Friday, Oct. 4

What:  Salsa Party

Where:  West Philly Ballroom & Latin Dance, 4520 Baltimore Ave., Phila.

Time:  8:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Mini-lessons plus social dancing)

Admission:  $12.  No partner or experience necessary.

If you have a PennCard, you can take Penn Transit (215-898-RIDE/7433).  You could also take SEPTA's 34 trolley.

5.  Sunday, Oct. 6

What:  Bachata & Salsa at The Rocky Steps

Where:  2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
Time:  5 PM to 7:30 PM

Admission:  FREE

Dance classes on campus this year is being provided by Penn Social Dance.
