NEED for PhilYCM
It is important for these roles to be accomodated ASAP- especially that we are moving at such a fast pace, we need a team to help it grow.
1. Last week, we held over 3 Climate Change forums, hundreds of students have expressed interest to volunteer, support the Philippine Youth Climate Movement & 1-million tree campaign. We are seeking for volunteer to keep all our data together. A point of contact to coordinate with all those who have expressed interest to join the team.
2. We have printed over 2,000 copies of the PhilYCM flyer attached-- check our your name listed on the flyer! We are planning on printing PHILYCM stickers for give-away. However we are obviously short on funding, and I am using my own personal funds for this. Any ideas on how we can support PhilYCM funding needs? Sponsorship letters perhaps? Any ideas on how we can generate funding for PHILYCM? If we are engaging thousands of students/week, there has to be away we can entice others to help fund our organization. Do you have any contacts outside who can support a youth organization starting a network of leaders for climate change in the Philippines?
3. We need a main coordinator to head our nationwide "1-million-tree" campaign to launch on March 21, World Forest Day
UPDATE on projects
Climate Hero:
Our most recent 'Climate Hero' forum was held in Ilo-Ilo, at Western Visayas State Universitiy with over 1,500 students! Only had 3 days to plan it-- Whew! Thanks Edgar, Nestor, & Mark for all your help! We also held A Climate Hero forum in UP Visayas- Cebu & STI College Cebu-- over 600 ++ participants in both campuses, thanks Lorain, Karen & Rafi for making it happen!
1-Million Tree Campaign
Several schools, hundreds of students have expressed interest in joining. Our Climate Leader, Jella Villanueva, is coordinating with the seedlings with DENR, our team in Cebu is coordinating with the space, volunteers, and DENR to make sure that our launch in Cebu is successful. So much more needs to be done-- and we're looking for a leader to lead this campaign!
As you know, the growth of PHILYCM relies greatly on YOU, your energy, your ideas, your passion, in ensuring that we maintain a sustainable future ahead. Look forward to creating great change in our country with all of you rockstars.
With Love,
E
