Friars,

Sup. This is not the preseason kickoff email; this is the pre-preseason info sharing email. The blackout sheet, dues, division info, schedule, and all that stuff will come later. This update includes:

  • Tourney dates

  • Season schedule

  • Preseason skills camp & other Fun Things

As a Providence College Friar, I'm pumped to be talking ball with you guys. As a person who struggles planning anything beyond my next meal, it makes me nauseous. Such is the duality of the human condition. Let's get into it.

The Tournament:

Tourney is slated for the very beginning of August again, with pod play starting on the first. Bracket play is the weekend after.

  • August 1-2: Pod Play

  • August 8: Single-elimination bracket

  • August 9 - Rainout date

Other Fun Stuff

  • The league is hosting a preseason skills camp for the first (?) time ever on Saturday, 3/28, run by Coach Dan Blewett.

    • What: The title says it all; this is open to players of all levels and a great way to warm up for the season.

    • Time: 10am-1pm (location TBD)

    • Cost: $20 cost per player (all proceeds will be donated to a CAN partner organization)

    •  Personal Note: I love Coach Dan. He is good people. Definitely knows ball. Great hugger. Smells like a benevolent pine tree.

  • The league is also bringing back the Super Draft the weekend after Easter on Saturday, 4/11

    • What: Everyone knows what the Super Draft is. I DEFINITELY know what the Super Draft is. So much so I don't even need to burn a bullet point explaining it.

    • Registration: If you are interested in participating in the Super Draft, the league has requested you sign up before 3/15

    • Time/Cost: TBD

That’s all for now. Please let John Burke me know if you have any questions. We’ll talk more when it’s not freezing outside.

Yours in Shared Contempt of Ed Cooley,

Paddy and Burke
