Providence College Softball 2025: Get in losers, we're blacking out!

Friars,

The sun is shining. The birds are chirping. The hot dogs are warm, and we...are...so...BACK. It is time to get the 2025 season prep underway.  

We're covering three things in this email: 

1) Coaching updates (Burke and Paddy) 

2) The blackout sheet (Fill it out Or Else) 

3) Season kickoff and tourney dates (Tourney is a week earlier than last year) 

Let's get it. 

Coaching Updates

Our beloved Emily-Anne is hanging up the clipboard and transitioning to a full-time player/consultant role for our Friars this season. We are thankful for the wonderful job she did as coach, and look forward to her continued success in this new role. In other front office news, we are welcoming John Burke back to the coaching staff! Paddy is also still here (doing Paddy things). Be on the lookout for future email updates from us. 

The Blackout Sheet

The blackout sheet is available at this link. Please mark the dates you know you will NOT be available on with a "1" as soon as possible. If you don't see your name, fill in one of the empty rows with your info and let it rip (just please leave the formulas alone). We'll create the season's schedule from this doc in March. Please update accordingly. Blackout sheet neglectors forfeit all rights to complain about scheduling conflicts. That's that on that. 

Season Kickoff and Tourney Schedule

Season Dates: 

3/06/2025: Divisions announced, scheduling starts

4/19/2025: Regular season starts
7/13/2025: Regular season ends
7/19/2025: Optional makeup date (if we get rained out of any of our regular season games) 

7/21/2025: Tourney seeding announced

Tournament Dates:

8/2 - 8/3/2025: Pod play

8/9/2025: Single-elimination bracket

8/10/2025: Tourney rain date
