CAN Tournament 2025 Episode 4: The One with the Transpo Logistics & Volunteering

Friars,

We are a mere two sleeps away from doing battle for the 'ship. I have some updates on the gameplan for Saturday. But first, just wanted to say I sincerely appreciate all the chatter in the groupchat today to organize rides; we're already like 90% of the way there. Let's get into it. 

Immediate Action Items Required from You

• Use the WhatsApp group to coordinate transpo to Goddard (if you haven't already); if you are still rideless by COB tomorrow, 8/1, let me know 
• Send me your walkup song (if you haven't already) 
• Let me know if you need a parking pass (if you haven't already). We are distributing these in the order they're requested.   
• Pay your dues (if you haven't already). $60 for season. $80 for tourney. If you do not pay your dues in a timely manner, lord help me, I will track you down and calmly ask you what's going on. 
• Get pumped (if you haven't already) 

Several of you have already done all 5 of the action items outlined above. That is awesome. Thank you. 

Bring Your ID

We're giving this its own section because its important. Bring a photo ID to check in. You need an ID to check in. They will not let you check in without an ID. Bring your ID. Bringing your ID is mandatory. Not bringing your ID is prohibited. If you come to tourney and don't bring your ID, you're gonna be like "Damn, I should have brought my ID." 

Game Day Meetup 

We will be distributing parking passes at Goddard, not at the Holiday Inn. If carpool groups want to drop cars at the HI or rendezvous there, totally fine, but we will run out parking passes to whoever needs them at the fields. Burke has offered to run point on this but I will also be available. For tunes - I will have my speaker, but you can never have too many speakers. Same goes for coolers, flags, chairs, and whatever fun things people want to bring to pass the time when we're not playing (looking forward to another epic frisbee session with Deegan, all are invited). Bring 'em if you got 'em. 

Volunteering

We have been assigned the noon (12 PM EST) time slot to help with ice and drinks and are required to provide three (3) volunteers. 'Ridith has already stepped up (amazing), we need two more people who can 1) arrive at the field at or before noon and 2) will not be busy with scorekeeping or other duties. Please let myself or Burke know if that's you. Reporting for duty is easy, you just show up at check-in when your time slot starts.  We get in Trouble if we don't have volunteers.   

A Note on the Sunday Games

They are early. Be there on time. Be capable of playing softball. That is all. 

A Note on Driving While Under the Influence

Don't do that.

Again, you guys are awesome and have made a lot of this process very easy to organize so far. Looking forward to the fight.
