CAN Tournament 2025 Episode 3: The One with the Schedule

Squad,

As I'm sure many are aware, CAN dropped our game schedule for tournament. We will cover that and a few additional updates below. Let's get into it. 

Actions We Need From You Right Now: 

• Respond to Burke's poll in the WhatsApp group about lodging so we can get a sense of carpooling logistics 
• Send Patrick your walkup song
• If you're driving to tournament and will require a parking pass, let Patrick know
• Pay your dues if you haven't already

Game Schedule 

• Game 1: Saturday, August 2nd, 1:20 PM EST against Indiana on Field 4
• Game 2: Sunday, August 3rd, 7:30 AM EST against Penn State on Field 5
• Game 3: Sunday, August 3rd, 8:40 AM EST against Vanderbilt on Field 5

Note we are only playing one game on Saturday in the afternoon, and two games Sunday morning.  

Banquet and Awards Dinner

By popular request, and the fact that Chevy's closed, and the fact you can count the number of establishments able to seat a party of 20 during tourney weekend in Beltsville on one hand, we will be returning to the T.G.I. Friday's to hold our annual banquet and awards dinner. Our reservation is for 7:00 PM, so we will be wrapped up in time for everyone to get the full 8-hour sleep cycle we will all so desperately need. This group has always crushed it with the attire, looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with this year. 

Misc. Event Updates

• If you have guests coming that you did not report to myself or Burke, that's fine. They can pay at the door. $50 for a one-day pass, $65 for both days. The league is accepting Venmo or PayPal, they are not accepting cash
• Tourney food will be Famous Dave's barbecue again. Corn bread lovers rejoice
• There will be at least one seltzer option available at the beer truck 
• Our team's volunteer slot is tentatively planned for Saturday in the noon slot, helping out with the ice/drinks. More on this to come
