Subject: CAN Softball Update - Rain, Reschedules, and Roadtrips
Hi everyone -
We have a few things to pass along this week and since Maurer had some fun with the subject line of our last one, I tried as well. It's a work in progress for sure... now onto the updates...
RAINOUTS
Reminder that games should be rescheduled within 2 weeks of the previously scheduled date and that it should be rescheduled before the end of the season, 7/13. If you do not reschedule within 2 weeks, we will assign you a new date (We’ve already had to do that).
We’ve been asked by a few already and as of right now, we aren’t opening up the week after 7/13 for rescheduling. To date, the league as a whole has only played a third of the scheduled games so there’s already a lot of back loading in teams schedules (a lot of season left). Let’s see what happens this weekend and then we’ll reassess. Continue to schedule your makeups with the season ending on 7/13.
GAMES THIS WEEK
We have it on good authority that WPP is currently blocked off so if you have any games scheduled on WPP this week, you might need to find a new field or work on rescheduling. As of right now, that could be as many as 10 games.
FIRST GODDARD (JUNE 14) WEEKEND
We are looking forward to the first Goddard weekend on 6/14. As a reminder, the snack shack won’t be open. If anyone is trying to get another game or two in that was rained out earlier in the season, we do have room for 1-2 more games in the late afternoon. We just need consensus from all teams involved in those games.
Need a Bat Sticker? Coordinate with Maurer or Joe about getting your bat stickered on our first Goddard day! Not going to Goddard day, check out the Softball Standings link document below and look for games for Maryland, Johns Hopkins, Delaware, Colorado, UVA or UCONN. Feel free to check with us to make sure we are playing that day if you need a bat stickered. .
WEBSITE
There’s still website issues so continue to email us your scores. We are updating the Google Doc we created as scores come in so everyone can still see standings and scores whenever they want.
We are working on something that probably won’t be ready until next season (because of all the issues we’ve had with this year's site). Stay tuned for that.
EARLY TOURNAMENT INFO
As a reminder the tournament dates have moved up a week this year. Tournament dates are August 2, 3, 9 (rain date 10). Pod play will be the first weekend (August 2 and 3) and Single Elimination portion will be August 9
We have a few options for hotels this year. PASS THIS ONTO YOUR PLAYERS as the links will only be available through Mid July so don’t delay in booking.
