SER REAL CONFERENCE 2010 APPLICATION

 

The Gender and Development committee (GAD) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the annual SER Real Women’s Leadership and Small Business Conference. The conference is open to any female Ecuadorian teenager between the ages of 15 and 18.

 

What is SER REAL? Each year the GAD committee plans a leadership conference for between 25 and 45 young Ecuadorian young women. This year’s theme is “Lideres de Hoy, Empresarias de Manaña”.

 

Why should I nominate a girl or girls? Leadership conferences are a great opportunity to grow as a person and leader while providing a fun and challenging environment. Nominating a girl can help her see the world outside her small town, teach her valuable life skills, and have tons of fun at the same time! (Please nominate no more than 4 girls per volunteer)

 

Where? This year’s conference will be held in Oriente city of Puyo, Pastanza.

 

When? March 24^th-27^th.

 

What do I have to do? Just fill out this one page application and send it to Geoff Bendeck (geoff....@gmail.com)  by March 9^th. Volunteers will also be responsible for getting their participants to the nearest meeting place on March 24^th (your girls will travel with a chaperone to the conference from regional meeting sites tbd.)

 

*Note: Girls who have won scholarships from GAD are ineligible for the conference; they will be invited to the Scholarship conference this summer.
