I was going to do a recap of Metro's Fare Meeting on Thursday.  It was not well attended and only Myles and I were there from Bike Ped group (unless there was someone I did not recognize).

Jon Featherson of The Maine Wire was the only press/media person to show up and he did this excellent recap of the meeting and outlining the fare proposal.

So I am sending you here to read it.

The bottom line:  Under the proposal, Metro would increase the local base fare from $2.00 to $2.25, representing a 12.5 percent increase. The BREEZ base fare would increase from $4.00 to $4.50, also a 12.5 percent increase.  Increase would take effect August 1, 2026.

Thanks for the recap. Did they say whether the tap to pay would still include a free transfer?
