Hi folks,
Sorry about the late notice, but due to the Special city council meeting the executive committee elected to postpone the meeting for tonight till very likely next Monday, Monday the 21st, at 7pm.

It looks a lot better than it did when I emailed about it a couple days ago, but I'm still deeply concerned about Park Street and the right hook risk it presents.  I am also against 3 travel lanes, and I don't understand why they are keeping all 3.

If you agree with me, or disagree, and want a bike ped meeting in your life this week, show up tomorrow night!!!!

Hi Winston,
I won't be able to make it to the York St meeting in person.
While many of the proposed changes look like improvements, I'm struggling with all of the inbound bridge traffic narrowing to one lane AND slowing/stopping when wanting to turn Right on Park for bikes or pedestrians continuing straight on York. That seems like a lot of vehicle volune AND speed to bring to a halt to allow non-vehicles safe passage along York when it seems like a high percentage of traffic wants to take that Right turn onto Park St.
Aside from sharing this with you, is there a way I can submit this concern without attending tomorrow?

Sorry for being ignorant about the public comment processes.....it's confusing to say the least.

Thanks,
Lindsay

I imagine that there will be some kind of survey, which will be released after the meeting, that's usually how these things go- I'll be sure to share it here if there is!

This is sort of conjecture, since I think State and High aren't this far along in the design process:  only having one inbound lane there may be made possible because a lot of the traffic coming off the bridge will be going up State Street once State and High are returned to 2 way streets- likely the left hand lane on the bridge will be a turn up state street only lane???

State and High going back to 2 way I think is more or less set in stone and probably happening at the same time or slightly before this project happens?

Which is a little confusing, since those 2 intersections are also very important, and really key to the corridor.

Because of State returning to 2 way, I don't think we need 3 lanes anywhere on york between State and High, and I agree that the distribution of lanes seems weird.

I agree with you there, Winston. Most of the cars going up the hill will just stay straight on State anyway. The few that want to get further east can take a right off of State at any point. Pleasant Street is the only one that connects to High but does not connect through to State. It would be slower for most people to wait for a left turn signal at York and High than to go straight up State street and turn right at some point. A further road diet on York would just reinforce that incentive.
