Join our Transportation Advisory Committee

Dear PACTS Members and Interested Parties,

The Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG)—along with its urban transportation department, the Portland Area Comprehensive Transportation System (PACTS)—is seeking applications from transportation and community leaders to fill the Active Transportation Specialist seat on the PACTS Regional Transportation Advisory Committee (RTAC).

RTAC advises the PACTS Policy and Executive Boards—the governing bodies of PACTSon transportation and transit planning and management across the region. The committee reviews and provides input on a wide range of programs and projects, including funding allocations. RTAC typically meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00-11:00 AM.

The Active Transportation Specialist represents the perspective of people who walk, bike, roll, or use other forms of active transportation in the region. Candidates may bring professional, lived, or community-based experience to this role. As there are other seats on the committee for staff from municipalities, transit agencies, MaineDOT, and the Maine Turnpike Authority, we are seeking applicants from outside these organizations. If you are interested in serving, please complete the application by clicking the button below. We also encourage you to share this opportunity with your networks.

Apply now!

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on Friday, May 22, 2026, and will be accepted until the position is filled. If you have questions or concerns, email me at ami...@gpcog.org.

Thank you!

Aubrey Miller
