I wanted to share with you all that the Bicycle Coalition of Maine is currently hiring for 2 positions:

Education Specialist (Part-Time)
The Education Specialist plays a central role in advancing the Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s mission to make Maine a safer, more accessible place to bike and walk. This position leads and delivers high-quality bicycle and pedestrian safety education programming for youth and adults, with a primary geographic focus on southern and western Maine (Waterville and south/west).

The Education Specialist manages incoming education requests, builds and maintains relationships with schools and community partners, coordinates and supports BCM’s educator network, tracks program outcomes, and contributes to the continuous improvement and growth of BCM’s education initiatives.

This role combines hands-on instruction, program coordination, relationship management, and data tracking in a dynamic and community-centered environment.

Active Transportation Technical Assistance Specialist (Full-Time)
The Technical Assistance Specialist leads and manages the Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s Municipal and Community Technical Assistance Program.

This position provides direct support to municipalities and communities seeking to improve walking and bicycling infrastructure, strengthen local policies, advance transportation safety efforts, and build public support for Active Transportation initiatives

The AT Technical Assistance Specialist serves as BCM’s primary liaison to municipalities participating in the program and is responsible for delivering high-quality planning assistance, coordinating public engagement efforts, supporting demonstration and pilot projects, and ensuring compliance with all MaineDOT reporting and contract requirements.

This role combines policy expertise, project management, community facilitation, infrastructure knowledge, and administrative rigor.
