OK, I've promised myself (and a few of you) some neat mods and end-of-
life-cycle things for PB. I have 2 good units I'll use to show off
some of these things. First off, I will show off the ultimate Max. mod
for a PB 540c (couldn't get a 550) which will be 183 MHz chip, with at
least 32 Meg. RAM running system 9.1 and/or 8.6 and iTunes and a nice
flash-RAM based HD.

Second I'll show the mod to turn a PB into a nice video picture
frame.

Sounds interesting :D
I can't imagine OS 9 would run all that well on a 540c, though, when
it barely runs on my Wallstreet (it actually runs slower than OS X),
although I'm likely wrong.. I should buy a PPC upgrade for my 520c (I
know that's easier said than done)...
Also, the video picture frame idea is cool. I might try that sometime.

Yes, 9 is slow on a 500, (even the high speed PPC) but it give access
to modern use-ability. I've done both 9.1 and 8.6 on a 500 just to see
if it would work.

As to a wall street. Because they are slow running X I've started to
convert mine to a video picture frame.

By the way John (and the rest of you), the list has really just been
poking along. I haven't relly had the time to invest keeping it really
active and vital, just alive. I know that as soon as I get a couple of
ducks in a row I would like to show off some more interesting things
with my 'blackbiard' but for the last 24 months I've had to focus on
life a bit more and tech. a bit less.

we'll see.

Understand how that is... Last year was pretty chaotic for me, my
grandma died unexpectedly in September.
Luckily, things have slowed down, but school starts next week :S
Like i said earlier, I'm amazed the list is alive at all. If I were
still in charge of it it would certainly be dead by now >.>
Back on topic, i would convert my Wallstreet to a video picture frame,
but it's my newest working laptop.. I have a PC laptop that's a few
years newer but both hinges are broken and the AC jack has a solder
joint that has repeatedly failed, so it's not very useable.
