to Pennsylvania wine talk
Of course, looking at this I can't believe it's been since February
since I (or anyone else) posted anything here.

So I'll talk about a couple of things I've been up to lately. One is
Torrontes. This is an Argentinian grape used to make fruity, floral
whites, not unlike Viognier. It's not by any means a dessert wine,
although if you like your whites desert-dry this won't appeal to you.

The latest bottle we tried was the Santa Ana 2006, which was on
display on its own at the Devon specialty store. At $7.99 a bottle it
seemed like a safe bet, and we'll probably get at least another
bottle. It's a nice picnic wine, I think.

The other thing? More Spanish reds, most recently the Casa de la
Ermita Jumilla, a Tempranillo-based red that frankly, I don't know
what to make of. My first impression was negative; it had little
flavor and what there was wasn't pleasant. But I went back to it the
night after (yes, I am too cheap to throw away bad wine) and found
that it had developed well with oxidization, tasting more like a good
Cabernet. So maybe it just needs a few more years in the bottle, or
maybe you want to plan ahead and open it in the morning if you're
going to drink it at night. The wine can be found at

So what's everyone else been up to?

Anyone?
