Greetings Pack 410,
Good news! We have been authorized to meet in the Pine Meadow Cafeteria. Our first event will be a Back to the Pack meeting on September 3 at 6:30. This will be for everyone who was a scout last school year.
I would like to ask everyone to bring some snack or finger food to share and the pack will provide drinks (Capri Suns and not the ones leftover from last year). This will be an open format and will allow the boys to play tag (their favorite past time) and for us to catch up and tell stories about our summers.
School Night for Scouting will be the following week, September 10 from 6:30-7:30 in the cafeteria. This will be when new scouts and families can come and see what scouting is all about. I would like to ask that your scout wear his uniform, or at least his t-shirt, to school that day to help garner interest in scouting. Due to some old rules being enforced county wide, we are not able to talk to the boys in the classrooms anymore nor have an adult from outside the school hand out information to students. However, one student can give another student handouts about scouting if there is an interest.
Please come out on the 10th and help answer questions from parents that are new to scouting and share your first-hand experiences with them. We will have some boy scouts from Troop 628 there to take the boys outside for an activity (weather permitting this year) so we can have adult conversations without distractions.
By the way, I am looking for a Tiger Den Leader and a Webelos I Den Leader. If anyone would like to step up and take a leadership role...this is after all, a parent led organization you would not be alone and I would be very grateful.
Looking at the big items on the calendar for this semester;
Pine Meadow Open House September 12 from 6:00 to 8:00, we will have a table, stop by and say "hello!"
The first full Pack meeting will be September 17 in the cafeteria at our usual time, 6:30-7:30.
