to Oxford International Relations M.Phil (2005)
I got an email from Shohei Sato today that raised what seems to be one
of the most crucial issues about this program of study so far: access
to books. People in colleges like Nuffield and St. Antony's have the
benefit of nearby access to lots of the materials we need, but those of
us in less IR oriented colleges seem to have all been scouring the
Manor Road library together. There must be mechanisms by which we can
better coordinate the use of books.

On a separate, but not unrelated note, I propose to the six other
people who are working on the same topic as me for the core seminar
that we arrange to meet regularly, though not for terribly long, before
the seminar takes place. It would give us an early chance to discuss
the readings that we have each been able to do, as well as serving as a
means for somewhat reducing the stress involved in these presentations,
which we only have a 1/7 chance of actually having to deliver.
