Thank you for your inquiry, Steve.

Because it is a "commercial Venue" (churches, businesses, conventions)
Bright House wants
more than $2000.00 per year to provide Broadband to the Winter Park
Christian Church.

There are some major technical difficulties that we would also have to
address, which include
the need to run our own underground broadband cables for over 300
feet, under a road, and, a parking lot.

LEAP-CF.org charges no dues, at this time.

Without income, and a responsible client whom BHN could be able to bill
collect monthly,
there does not seem to be a way to get broadband...

Some members do arrive with a Hot Spot for up to ten users.

Some users of Bright House have roaming wifi, and we can see a BHN wifi
network, but,
users report the signal is too weak, at our location.

Were you aware that you can make the entire install/update DVD set, and
bring them to any
Install Fest?

Patrick Berry,
Secretary,
LEAP-CF.ORG

Patrick,

What's the status of broadband going to be at the Installfest? Would
its throughput be high enough for several people to install BSD from
the Internet?

Thanks,

SteveT

Or perhaps a different venue, if this venue has all the problems you
mention and I've heard from others. I had heard a lot of it was a
personality conflict with one person at the church.

I'm pretty sure that if LEAPstallfests had decent Internet
connectivity (not just depending on somebody arriving with a hotspot),
several folks interested in *BSD would show up. I know I would.

But without reliable Internet, I'd just stay home and use my broadband
connection to install BSD.
