Experience The Gaden Ngari Tibetan Buddhist Monks World Tour 2017

We are honoured to invite you to witness the creation and destruction of a sacred sand mandala painting and a cultural performance of multiphonic chants and sacred rituals giving a glimpse of ancient temple activities and promoting world peace.

The Monks are on a world tour and specifically wanted to come to the Manchester area to dispel fear and encourage healing, protection and peace within the city after the bomb at the arena as was done at ground zero after 9/11.

Sacred Sand Mandala - This Bank Holiday Weekend - Central Manchester

Sunday 27th August - 11am - 4.30pm (Closing Ceremony 3pm)

This magnificent, cultural and spiritual art form will be created over 2 days which will culminate in a ceremony where the structure is destroyed to represent impermanence and small packets of the sand will be donated to the audience as a blessing/momento. There will then be a procession from the Royal Exchange to the River Irwell where the remaining sand from the Mandala will be released into the river to reach the rest of the world.

The Mandala will be followed by a performance at Stockport Plaza on the 18th of September where people can experience a cultural performance of multiphonic chants and sacred rituals giving a glimpse of ancient temple activities and promoting world peace.
