1st annual OB triathlon?

Hey everyone! I'm going to get underway in setting up the 1st OB tri
next year presented by (who else) Organic Athlete. I have been asking
around and I think I could make a killer one-of-a-kind race. I'm going
to need permits, a bunch of hype, and an awesome route. I think sprint
distance would be awesome. In the heart of OB with only local
businesses sponsoring the event. Around a 60 dollar entry fee I think
would cover costs and a bit of fund raising for OA and probably OB
elementary. If anyone has any information on permits and logistics I
could use it. I think I would put the race sometime in september 2010.
max 300 racers and there would be a mtn. bike/ beach cruiser division
so everyone could do it and it would be uniquely OB. Let me know what

I would participate, especially if it is local.  I think an Olympic distance race would be a better distance since we don't have many of those in SD. :-)  There are a ton of sprint races.  You might also want consider a kid's triathlon on the same weekend with a similar format as .... http://www.ironkids.com/
