Hey folks,

I have been conspicuously MIA from this group's activities for months now, mostly because of
my ultimate frisbee commitments.
And the good news is my team made it to club nationals at the end of the month! Wahoo! I'll keep on keepin' on with the track workouts for a little while longer...

We're having a fundraiser lil mini glow in the dark frisbee tournament this saturday night that I thought some of you might get a kick out of if you've ever played frisbee or are curious what its all about. Details below - if you're interested in tickets just let me know!

FRISBEE FUNDRAISER!!!

Dear Frisbee Community, Friends, Family, and Fans,

San Diego Women’s Ultimate proudly presents to you our first annual ULTIMATE Goaltimate/Glowtimate FRISBEE FUNdraiser. Safari has just qualified for Club Nationals 2009 and we are ready to dominate…but we need your help! So, we’re hosting this super awesome FUNdraiser to help us get to Sarasota, FL at the end of the month. We would love to see all of your shining faces for a day of food, Frisbee, and (did we mention?) FUN! Thank you in advance for your support…we really, truly appreciate it!

WHAT?
We'll begin with a couple of Goaltimate games and a BBQ (hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc). Then, when it gets dark, we will start the Glow-in-the-Dark ultimate games; everyone will randomly be assigned a team (color coordinated glow stick bracelets and necklaces provided). Periodically during the evening we will be holding a 50/50 raffle plus other cool prizes like gift certificates (Karl Strauss, free massage, etc), movies, discs and much, much more!

WHEN?
The event will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Liberty Station Fields. Here's the schedule:
         5:00pm-7:00pm: Goaltimate Games
         7:00pm-9:00pm: Glow-in-the-Dark Ultimate Games
         5:00pm-9:00pm: BBQ/Raffle
Come when you want, eat when you want, play what you want,
heckle who you want, leave when you want! Do what you want!

WHERE?
The Liberty Station Fields are in Point Loma. This is where Spring DUDE was held this year. From the 5: Head WEST on Rosecrans, turn LEFT on Womble, and follow it straight down until you hit the parking lot. Park and proceed to the fun/BBQ grill/Goaltie goals on the fields to the right of the parking lot.

HOW?
Pre-sale tickets are available to purchase from any Safari player. Player entry for Goaltimate OR Glow-in-the-Dark Ultimate is $10 a player. Food tickets are $2 a piece and get you one hot dog or grilled cheese sandwich. Raffle tickets are $2 a piece and may win you lots of rad stuff! Tickets will also be available at the fields on the day of the fundraiser. See you there! Thanks for your support!
