Jesse Owens Documentary at Hayward Field

INDIANAPOLIS - National Track & Field Hall of Famer and worldwide track and field icon Jesse Owens will appear via the award-winning 1964 Bud Greenspan and Cappy Productions documentary film "Jesse Owens Returns To Berlin" at the University of Oregon's fabled Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., on Wednesday, June 24.

The documentary will appear on the Trackvision screen at Hayward Field during a practice session prior to the 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, June 25-28 in Eugene. The event, which begins at 5 p.m. local time, is free to the public.

The USA Outdoor Championships will feature the nation's finest professional track and field athletes competing for national honors and spots on the Team USA roster for the 2009 IAAF World Outdoor Championships in Berlin, Germany. The World Championships will be held at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Stadium, where Owens won gold medals in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay and long jump.

"Jesse Owens Returns to Berlin" features archival footage of the 1936 Olympic Games, along with Owens' narration of his involvement with the event.
