blurring/duplication in opera images

Has anybody encountered this problem before.
Our images are sometimes showing a blurring problem similar to what I would expect if the samples were moving. Movement is not the cause of our problem and it always aligns along the same diagonal as can be seen in the attached images. 
Users have told me that restarting the opera sometimes helps but not always.

any ideas?

HI Peter,

Yes we have seen this problem before about "smearing along the 7'oclock_to_1_oclock axis. It was only on 1 camera and usually on field 1 but not all fields in each well. We have a service contract and filed an evoportal request about it.  Our service engineer, Nate McFarland made a few changes including timing of the shutter and adding vibration dampers on the lens. The problem went away after his changes.
