Are folks still out there? I had to check the archives to verify that I'd actually sent the note where I mentioned that I have an Alderman or two for our June meeting.

Does anyone want to get "on the agenda" for this week, to demonstrate something, or raise a topic? Is anyone bringing Gov IT guests or folks from community organizations?

We're feeling a little anemic, I'm afraid.

One idea would be to have a working session, with us writing
documentation about issues (state of TIF reporting, election
transparency, anything that catches interest) independently or in
small groups and then reporting back. A way to catch up on the state
of multiple topics at once, produce some signs of life for the
website, and maybe get some next actions.

I also wanted to mention that my train gets in around 4:30-ish that
Wednesday, so my luggage and I would be able to make a meeting.

Matt's idea sounds good.

I'd also like to pitch the idea using the wiki as a lightweight data catalog / knowledge pool. We're all looking for and working with data in isolation, and I think it would be really useful to capture our knowledge and know-how for the benefit of all.

An example would be.. Hey I just FOIA'd this data set from the CTA, here are the hoops I had to jump through to do it, here are some other data sets that I know about, and (possibly, i know there are issues involved in this) here is a copy of said data.

Of course, it would be more systematic and formalized than that, but you get the idea.

Thoughts?

I'm hesitant to gesture in the direction of the lime-light, but there
seemed to be some interest my project, Safecity, at the last meeting.
I'd be more than happy to talk about that for n minutes (where n is
greater than 3 minutes and less than 30). I'm afraid I don't have
much else to offer by way of lending concreteness to the basic agenda
we discussed at the last meeting.

I'm more focused right now on SeeClickFix.com which incorporates technology to address 311 issues in a more transparent and efficient manner.
