Hi,

My friend Vicki Easton visited Pelee Island in August this year. She was showing me her photos and said there was a dragonfly for me to ID. I looked at the photo and thought the black on the abdomen looked strange. Then I noticed how blue the thorax and head were and realized I was looking at a rare beast. The face isn't very blue, a hint of blue, mostly white, but perhaps it is a teneral or an old male.

The photo was taken in the garden at the Barefoot Inn on North Shore Rd, west of Scudder on 8 August 2024.

As far as I am aware, this is the 4th record for Ontario.
