Does anyone know when this group will be up and running...I personally
know Liz if anyone would like me to contact her about this and also I
can't wait to get started writing my character Amadelia again but I
will have to tweak her a bit because she is the granddaughter of Aurora
and I don't think ya'll want that kind of thing, right? She and
Cinderella are cousins, that might work. I know she is a sorceress.
When I created this character I had my HP computer and saved my info
about her on that one but it won't open up on my Dell...and there is
nothing about her at the Yahoo Group...SORRY for rambling I am just
thinking out aloud please forgive me...if I stay in this group a long
time you will realize that!!

Heya :)

I had to update another site, but both groups are ready to post in.

Does anyone know when this group will be up and running...

It's up and waiting. I've got so many characters and profiles, and am trying to figure out which ones to begin putting in.

I'd like to start off using these famous characters and will gladly share them when people are going to write scenes involving them.

-Gretel who, contrary to how things were set up in 10K, is not a princess or queen. She and her brother started out with some pretty humble beginnings, and IMO not every girl even in fairy-tales should end up marrying into royalty.

-Thumbelina - though she ended up as a queen in the end of the original story, she never reunited with her mother, which was pretty sad, so I'd like to fix that. She could have resigned her queenship out of lonesomeness and that sort of life really not being for her, and end up in any kind of adventure involving who knows which characters.

-Snow White or Cinderella - one or the other, and neither are over the hill or dead like in 10K.

-Bo-Peep

-Red Riding Hood

and possibly -Miss Muffet

All other classic characters are up for grabs and I'd be willing to share classic characters I play anyway.

Aurora? Who's that? Sorry, I haven't been in the loop. If Aurora is the same Aurora AKA Sleeping Beauty, that's what she was named in the old Disney classic, you're right, she really can't have grandkids since I'd like her story to pick up where the tale left off. That would put Sleeping Beauty as a younger adult which would be neat, and as far as I'm concerned she can be up for grabs.

But - if Aurora isn't a classic fairy-tale character and is just some older person made up by you or another list member, then sure, Amadelia can be her granddaughter.

She and
Cinderella are cousins, that might work.

I'm trying to break with the really common treatments characters get from rpgers who always seem to want to make their characters related to or in love with one or more of the famous classic characters.

That's the one thing that may need to be changed, depending on what's decided about Cinderella's family. I usually don't like to have created characters being related to famous ones. Considering how mean Cinderella's step family were to her when she was growing up, I assumed that she actually had no kin, or else they would've stepped in on her behalf. Whether it was a father, or aunts and uncles, I did wonder where they were when this horrible step family got away with slavery. Unless of course, the "step family" was in fact, her real family all along, in which case, that puts a whole new twist on things and the cousin idea - might - work. I read that her original family had been her real family, but in later revisions, the story had been changed to make it a step family to make it somewhat less disturbing.

But if you'd like to make her a cousin to the prince, since he wasn't really all that present in the story, and royalty tend to have tons of relatives among each other anyway, I'll go along with that. Or if we can decide if Cinderella's family was step or her natural family, maybe the relation as a cousin can work somehow. I was thinking maybe even a neighbor who might've had some inkling about what went on in that house but hadn't gotten the chance to meet and talk to Cinderella until she was rescued by the prince, but well, we could see.

It would be a pretty interesting plot twist if Cinderella had grown up believing the abusive people were her step family, only to find out they were actually her real family. That could make for some interesting emotional things to work through.

I know she is a sorceress.

Hehe! It's fine to ramble, I prefer that to really short posts anyway. :) But everything else sounds cool about Amadelia.
