Update on Jarrod's prayer request

Elizabeth. Jarrod got an update and asked if I would sent it out to
everyone. Here it is:
My dad is still in ICU in a medicated coma. To back up and tell you
how we got to this point, a few years ago my dad had his colon
removed. Just after I got married he had his first hernia repair
surgery related to the colon removal. He had gone in two weeks ago
today (Tuesday, 5/22) to have a second hernia repair surgery. That
surgery went well. On Friday (5/11), his vital began to fluctuate and
something was obviously not right. The following morning his small
intestines (which are an altered version due to the colon removal)
ruptured sending toxins into his body. That is when they did emergency
surgery. He has been in ICU and sedated since that time. The incision
began leaking a few days ago but his surgeon tried to do everything to
avoid taking him back into surgery. Unfortunately he spiked a fever
last Saturday/Sunday and they decided that if he was going to be able
to get better, they had to go in and repair this leak and clean out
the infection. So that brings us to this moment, my mom and I are in
the waiting room while he is in surgery. We are optimistic but now
this is risky right now. We have great faith in his doctors and staff
and even greater faith that God will see him through. These weeks of
playing the waiting game show God's sovereignty all the more.
We covet your continued prayers for him and our family. It will be a
slow process.
