MPD Arrests Man for an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
(Washington, D.C.) – The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest has been made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense.
On Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 2:52 p.m., the suspect, who was inside of a residence in the 300 block of Anacostia Road, Southeast, was arguing with the victims who were outside of the residence. During the argument, the suspect brandished a gun and then shot at the victims with no rounds taking effect. The victims then fled the scene.
On Thursday, June 6, 2024, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 22-year-old Dayquan Henderson, of Southeast, DC. He was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). The investigation revealed that the victims and suspect were known to each other.

(Washington, D.C.) – The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest has been made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense.
On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2:26 a.m., a group of suspects exited a vehicle and began to exchange gunfire with another suspect in the 2700 block of Langston Place, Southeast. One of the suspects who exited the vehicle was shot during the exchange of gunfire. The suspect who was shot was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other suspects fled the scene on foot. The suspect’s vehicle was recovered. Three firearms were located inside.
31-year-old Dervell Nettles, of Northeast, DC was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.

(Washington, D.C.) – The Metropolitan Police Department's announces an arrest has been made in an assault with a dangerous weapon (knife).
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 7:06 p.m., the suspect approached the victim in the 1400 block of U Street, Northwest, and assaulted the victim with a knife. The suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended by responding officers. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threating injuries.
The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Mark Anthony Barnes of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
