MPD Arrests Suspect in Northeast Burglary
(Washington, D.C.) – The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in an armed burglary in Northeast.
On Monday, December 22, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the suspect posed as a delivery worker and knocked on the door of an apartment in the 4100 block of Ames Street, Northeast. When the victim opened the door, the suspect sprayed the victim with pepper spray, produced a knife, and stabbed the victim. The suspect attempted to take the victim’s shoes before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
On Friday, January 16, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 33-year-old Tavonte Graham, of Southeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with Burglary One While Armed (Knife).
