Wagon Wheels and Wieners

8 oz. (3 3/4 cups) uncooked wagon wheel pasta
1/4 cup margarine or butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups milk
8 oz. cocktail wieners
4 oz. (1 cup) shredded American cheese
1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper

Cook wagon wheels to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain;
rinse with hot water.

In medium saucepan, melt margarine. Stir in flour until smooth.
Gradually add milk and wieners; cook over medium heat, stirring
constantly until mixture boils and thickens.

Add cheese; continue cooking until cheese is melted, stirring constantly.

Add cooked wagon wheels and pepper. Heat thoroughly.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
Prepare wagon wheels as directed above. Place margarine in 3-quart
microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds or until
melted. Stir in flour. Microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds. Using wire
whisk, gradually stir in milk. Microwave on HIGH for 4 1/2 to 5 1/2
minutes or until thickened, stirring once halfway through cooking.
Stir in cheese until melted. Stir in cooked wagon wheels, wieners and
pepper. Cover with microwave-safe plastic wrap. Microwave on HIGH for
1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Makes 6 servings (1 cup each)
