Medical professionals take an oath to not "give a lethal drug to anyone", but currently many states use physicians when performing lethal injections, which is currently the most common punishment in the United States. Join Amnesty International Thursday May 21 at 6:00 in Page Hall Room 10 for a presentation by Dr. Jonathan Groner about ethical and legal issues concerning the medical community and lethal injections in the United States.
Dr. Groner is the Trauma Medical Director of the Level 1 Trauma Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a Professor of Clinical Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is also internationally known expert on the topic of physician participation in capital punishment in the United States. Refreshments will be provided. Please contact Jack Bruce (
