Hi everyone!
I hope spring quarter is off to a great start!  We have been working really hard to plan a couple of events for the quarter.  Coming up right away is an opportunity to hear Dr. Seth Wanye talk on Tuesday, April 14th at 3:00 pm in Jennings room 40.  Dr. Wanye works with the international organization Unite for Sight and is an ophthalmologist in Ghana.  Dr. Seth Wanye is an internationally recognized medical doctor from Ghana, working at the Eye Clinic of Tamale Teaching Hospital in Ghana, Africa. He is currently the only ophthalmologist for over two million people in the northern region of Ghana. He will be in the U. S. only for a short while for the Unite for Sight conference at Yale University. His clinic has partnered with Unite for Sight, a nonprofit organization that "empowers communities worldwide to improve eye health and eliminate preventable blindness." We hope to bring him to Columbus for a facilitated discussion session with interested OSU students following the conference in Connecticut.  Please help us welcome him and come out for his talk and some Q&A following.

Secondly, we will be having our 3rd Annual Global Health Photo Exhibit on May 6th.  We are currently looking for submissions!!  The submission deadline is Friday, April 24th.

Submissions should seek to educate people about any aspect of global health including but not limited to health care for underserved populations within and outside of the United States, physical health care structures (such as clinics), administration of health care, preventative measures, and indigenous medicine.  With the photo please include a short caption, the location and year  when the photo was taken and whether you are an undergrad, grad or professional student, staff, faculty or other.

Entrants may be OSU faculty, staff, professional, graduate or undergraduate students.  Selected photographs will be printed and exhibited, and three photographers will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place gift certificates.  We look forward to seeing your photos!

Please contact Adrienne Strong stro...@osu.edu with any questions.
