The default 'certificate' isn't valid and IE8 reports that as a
security violation. I expect it's nothing to worry about (presuming
OEM is behind a firewall at work or accessable only through a VPN
connection).

You should be fine to proceed to the OEM login page; I have the same
issue here at my office. Apparently having a valid certificate for
OEM is way down on the list of things to do.

Again, presuming this is actually a safe site (it's a work site, so it
should be) you can use Firefox and ignore such errors.

Mohammed,

The certificate is self signed, i don't think it's an issue per say.  You have to accept them as exceptions, unless EM is externally exposed.  In that case you need a certificate authority behind it.

I went round and round with Oracle about this, to no avail.

If having a proper certificate weighs heavy on your list of priorities, you will need to obtain a certificate from the "certificate granting authority" for your location.  Once you have the certificate for your Grid, you can then install it.

As previously mentioned, it is certainly safe to ignore it, and continue on to the website.

Solution for the Certificate issue on Windows Platforms:

You do the following:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2007/04/10/installing-a-self-signed-certificate-as-a-trusted-root-ca-in-windows-vista.aspx

The important step is:

* In some cases you have to check show physical stores, then select “Local Computer” under Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

Hope this is helpful
Mohammed
