Thanks for getting back to my Sean.

Long ago I was an active member of OPA.  I created the OPA Forum Google Group back in 2005 (!!!) as a place where people could post information of interest of OPA members who signed up to the group.

If you are not familiar with Google Groups, they are essentially the old USENET newsgroups more or less taken over by Google.

The OPA Forum group is publicly viewable at https://groups.google.com/g/opa-forum  (Please click on that to see the Google Group interface to all posts made to the OPA Forum group.   Posts can be made by sending an email to opa-...@googlegroups.com)

For a few years there were sporadic posts to the group by some members.  Than for many years about the only posts were from the email address ad...@opa-sm.org. and then for more years from O...@wildapricot.org.

Since Oct 23, 2025, all  posts are only from you (Sean Besser <opanew...@mail.beehiiv.com>).

That seems to be your email address (which you use to send out to some kind of newsletter).

am CCing the OPA Forum newsgroup this email so that perhaps one of the current members of the group will chime in.

Feel free to call me at my phone number below (text first please).

regards

Hi Dennis. Thanks for reaching out. Not familiar with the group you’re talking about or what your concerns are. Included our president so we can figure out what you’re looking for. Please tell us more about the group.

Please accept invite to OPA Forum Google Group

Sean:

I tried to send an email to Sean Besser <opanew...@mail.beehiiv.com>

The email bounced.

Here is a copy of the email, which is self-explanatory.  Please respond...

Sean:

I created the OPA Forum Google Group several years ago.

See: https://groups.google.com/g/opa-forum

That group regularly receives emails from opanew...@mail.beehiiv.com which require me to manually approve them.

I don't monitor these daily and it is inconvenient for me to have to manually approve each of your posts.

To ensure your newsletter emails from opanew...@mail.beehiiv.com bypass the moderation queue and post directly to the OPA Forum, you need to register that address as an official member of the Google Group.

Could you please follow these steps?

Check your Beehiiv Inbox: I have sent an invitation to opanew...@mail.beehiiv.com to join the OPA Forum. Please look for an email from "Google Groups" and click Accept Invitation.

Verify Settings: Once you've accepted, please ensure your Beehiiv settings allow the account to receive group mail, or simply set your group subscription preference to "No Email" (to avoid loops) while remaining a member.

Why this helps: As a member, your posts will be automatically recognized by the system, so I will no longer need to manually approve them each time you send a newsletter.

Best regards,
Dennis

Thanks for the background and context. I have not done anything for that newsletter to be going to that group. Did not even know it existed. Weird. Sean,

Is it possible for you to make the email address of the newsletter be a member of the group?. That way I wouldn't have to manually approve every one of its posts. It's post are completely related to OPA often.

I cannot send an invite to that email address since any email sent to that address bounces it's like a newsletter outgoing only address. I'm not even quite sure how I can add it to the group -- my attempt to add it manually failed and that's after some effort using Gemini AI to help guide through me how to add it. If it were a member of the group then posts from it would automatically appear in the group postings.
