Will Rogers was many things- humorist, cowboy, entertainer, sharp-witted observer of the American scene.  For several years until his death  in 1935, he wrote a column that could be about whatever caught his fancy, that would include government  and the state of the nation.  We are about to enter the season that desperately calls for Will Rogers.

“Never blame a legislative body for not doing something. When they do nothing, they don’t hurt anybody. When they do something is when they become dangerous.”

“I really can’t see any advantage of having one of your party in as President. I would rather be able to criticize a man (or woman) than have to apologize for him (or her).”

“This economy was brought on by the actions of many peoples of the whole world, and its weight will be lifted by the actions of many peoples of the whole world, and not by a Republican or a Democrat.”

He had much more to say. I just wish we had him around today so he could blog. There are too many like me writing on the Internet and not enough like him.

We are still in Easter Season and will be until Pentecost (May 27). We are in the season of “It is finished” and entering the season of “Now it begins.”

   See you Sunday.
