spot - Coco's in Newport Beach (Fashion Island 151 Newport Center
Dr., Newport Beach 92660).
If you have pages you would like to present, please
make a note of it when you rsvp. The
first two to offer will present with anyone else as
backup. Please try to bring 15 to 33 pages.
Please RSVP to the meeting simply by responding to the email or on
the google group website. If there are not sufficient rsvps,
I will send out a notice to cancel.

I've been thinking this isn't a real group for a while - same meeting message followed by a cancellation each week.  Can the leader of this group, or any active members, respond and let people on this list understand the plan for this group going forward.

 

Are there really local screenwriters who would like to set up some regular meetings?

Hi Mike,

This is a real group, but we've had attendance problems for quite a
while. The rule is that if we have less than 4 people RSVP for a
meeting, we cancel it, since we'll do a table read/critique of pages
at our meetings. Perhaps it'd be better if we switched the day of the
week we meet on, I don't know. I'm open to suggestions. Believe me,
it's frustrating to send out these meeting notices and then send out
cancellations every week (we don't schedule meetings for the first
week of each month, by the way).

I understand your frustration. Hopefully we can work together to make
this group active again.
