Dear Commissioners:
My name is Marilyn Bonilla Krantz. I appeared before the Commission last night speaking in favor of funding the construction of the Orange County Behavioral Health Crisis Diversion Facility. I am an Orange County resident and proudly serve as President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for Orange County. I also serve as a member of the NAMI North Carolina Board of Directors.
On behalf of our local membership, families, and individuals impacted by mental illness, I am writing to express our profound gratitude for your unanimous 6-0 vote authorizing funding to begin construction of the Orange County Behavioral Health Crisis Diversion Facility. Your decisive leadership ensures this vital community asset will break ground this August.
NAMI-Orange stands ready to collaborate with the County and stakeholders to ensure the operational success of this center in the years ahead. Thank you for treating mental health emergencies with the urgency, dignity, and specialized care they require and deserve.
I respectfully request that this email be formally noted and made a part of the public record to permanently document our community's gratitude for your leadership, vision and compassion.
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn Bonilla Krantz, MA JDCAUTION: External email. Do not click links or open attachments unless verified. Report suspicious emails with the Phish Alert Button located on your Outlook menu bar on the Home tab.
