To the OWASA Board of Directors:
It seems that you have control of an empty residential brick building on Glosson Circle, between Jones Ferry Road and Fidelity Street in the Town of Carrboro. Would you please act with a goal of adding this brick residential building to the local stock of affordable housing?
Would you please contract with EmPOWERment, Inc. or other affordable housing agency so that this resource may improve the community? Can you protect the underground water pipes and still add this vacant house to the local stock of affordable housing?
This brick house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and at the bottom of an appreciable hill of sixteen feet in elevation. Thus, this house would be a blessing for an adult(s) with dependent(s) who does not possess the intellect to respect moving cars in a street. This may include toddlers, dependents with special needs, and elders with diminishing cognition.
Could you lease 114 Glosson Circle (parcel identification number 9778557982) to an affordable housing non-profit for ten years so that the non-profit may sublease the residence to a person or household of 60% or below of the local area median income?
Please find the means to add this brick house on a safe cul-de-sac to the local stock of affordable housing.
William Madden
