Hi,

We are going to collect new titles from publishers using their ONIX feeds and we are planning to use ONIX version 3.0. Is there any reason for not using version 3.0?
Thank you.

Best,

Alkim

Dear Alkim,

No, I don't think so. Since Amazon is requiring ONIX 3.0, book publishers should now be able to provide.

ONIX 3 adoption is not universal, but it is the standard. Amazon has announced that it will require metadata in ONIX 3 after the end of 2020, pushing most publishers to be ready. If there are laggards in the community, there are services that map 2.1 to 3 (not ideal, but a bridge). I would plan to use ONIX 3.
