Dear Andre

Thanks for the information. I am still not sure how this will work. What
would the school's involvement be? What type of activities will be the
children be expected to carry out? Who would present this to any prospective
children?

Regards

Hi Desire

I hope all is well.

We are in the process of launching a new Centre (I attach the draft letter
that will go to potential partners in due course), I share it with you as it
will give you a good sense of where we are at.

Specifically in terms of the Level 3 Employability Award, we have run a pilot
with 120 (16-18 year old) students as part of the National Citizen Service
with Charlton Athletic. This has been very successful from both perspectives,
firstly, all of the students ran a social enterprise/charity type activity in
their community over the summer and are in the process of completing the
employability award.

We are in the process of putting Robyn Eden on the programme and I was
wondering if we should explore having a few more students at Woodridge on the
programme, we could probably negotiate another 5-10 places from the Awarding
body as part of the pilot. If its a group from the College there will be
significant scope for peer-to-peer learning and the concomitant motivational
effect.

I have donated my Ipad to the pilot in that if Robyn finishes the Award she
can keep the pad. I would think that we could have it as an extra-curricula
option as we could be skyped into a classroom or use Google Hangout to manage
students through the process.

Linking them to CIME and the E20 consortium will also allow them to feed into
our international activities and be part of other business development
opportunities. We are in the process of making a number of submissions to
DFID for scholarships for professionals to visit the Centre and there will be
scope in due course for young people too I would think.

If you would like to have a chat further, I could give you a call next week.

Hope it all makes sense. I look forward to exploring the potential to work
with you/Woodridge/community partners.

Thank you.

Dear Desire

Hope all is well.

I am slowly getting back into the various projects and programmes and thought
I would give you a quick heads up on the developments around the skills
passport.

We will be piloting this with 250 16 year old with Charlton Athletic Football
Club as part of the National Citizenship Scheme introduced by the Tory Govt.
This will also embedd enterprise skills and be focussed on social enterprise
in the community.

Once this has been completed we will be looking to work with partners to test
its resonance in other contexts and communities, I will send you the relevant
info over the course of the next month.

I hope that we will find a suitable toehold to work towards a joint project
with the College in due course.

Thank you.

Dear Xolani

I hope all is well.

You are welcome to become a business associate of the Centre, we are building
our international business associate network, with the view to seeking
funding for projects in the partner countries. We have a number of models
that work, especially in the areas of enterprise and employability, which is
very relevant to developing countries.

The best way forward is to agree a toehold project (Employability in Virtual
Worlds) and then to identify a possible funding source. We aim to assist
partners to raise funding for projects where 100% of the funding flows to the
partner.

We would think that the model developed by our student Co-Operative
(Consensio - Timothy is the head) could find resonance with the Job Fund in
South Africa see attached paper.

Consensio is also working with PeaceChild (http://peacechild.org/) to host
the Global Youth Employability Summit in London in July 2013, we think your
group would make excellent partners.

Thank you.
