I wanted to know how all the other elements which have a atomic number
higher than iron, formed. We know that fusion took place and hydrogen
was converted to helium, helium to carbon and so on till the time iron
was formed. But, we also that iron has the highest binding energy per
nucleon so it should theoretically not form any thing else. So why and
how were the other elements formed?

The elements with atomic number higher than iron are formed by the
nulcear fission. Although Iron has highest binding energy per nucleon
the elements can be formed from other elements which has low binding
energy per nucleon.
