To: NuPTA and CTC friends,

The Summer 2009 edition of On Common Ground, the online magazine of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), covers a variety of transportation issues that should interest all of us, including light rail, BRT, TOD and the opportunities for developing a new national transportation strategy.  Take special note (p. 24) of the 2009 survey that NAR conducted with Transportation for America about what Americans want when it comes to transportation.

This report indicates that our job should be easy. It seems as though the public is with us. Now if we could just bring the politicians along.

I always find it interesting how often the desire for trains out paces the desire for buses. I would love to see some data on the emotions behind the numbers. Anyone?
