Get ready for another music- and dance-filled weekend at beautiful Camp Angelos along the Sandy River! Balkanalia will take place on
Friday, August 29 (4 PM) until Monday, September 1 (10 AM).This year’s camp will have classes specifically geared for beginners! Are you new to Balkan music and dance? Never danced in the line before? Never jammed with a band or ensemble? This year is your chance!
Beginner classes:- Beginning Balkan Dance with Jana Rickel
- Beginner Ensemble with Tung Pham
Classes for all levels:- Bulgarian dance with Tanya Dimitrov
- Bulgarian singing with Maria Bebelekova
- Bulgarian ensemble with Bill Cope & Veseljatsi
- Macedonian dance with Susan Reagel and Amy Mills (first-time teachers!)
- Macedonian singing with Dragi Spasovski
- Macedonian ensemble with David Bilides
- Modern Ensemble with Mark Levy
- Romani singing with Carol Silverman
- Tambura with Adam Good and Kristina Vaskys
- Tupan with Jerry Kisslinger
Evening party bands:- Staro Selo (Macedonian)
- Veseljatsi (Bulgarian)
- Gora Gora (Balkan Brass from Colorado — first time at Balkanalia!)

New in 2025: Subsidized tuition! Due to increased costs, we have to raise tuition prices this year. To make sure everyone can still attend, we are offering options to pay the full cost, a subsidized rate, or a “pay-it-forward” rate to help those in our community with fewer financial resources. We want to keep Balkanalia affordable for everyone!
Adults
- Full cost: $430 until August 1 / $480 August 1 & later
- Subsidized rate: $350 until August 1 / $380 August 1 & later
- Pay-it-forward: $480 until August 1 / $530 August 1 & later
Children
- Age 6–17: $215 (by July 31) / $240 (after July 31)
- Age 5 and under: free
Work ExchangeIf you can put in a little elbow grease in exchange for half the tuition, we have plenty of positions open on the dish crew, floor crew, coffee crew, bathroom crew, and registration crew!
