Trio Tsuica
Portland's only four-member trio, with music from Romania, Hungary, and nearby countries.
Tsuica in its English-friendly spelling, is Romanian brandy made from plums.Trio Tsuica brings you a fiery distillation of music from eastern and central Europe, played on violin, accordion, bass and cimbalom.
Brent Geary - violin
Kathy Fors - accordion
Paul Beck - cimbalom
Peter Whitmore - electric bass

Gin & Pontic
The remote northeastern coast of Turkey is bordered by the steep Pontos Mountains and the Black Sea. Here Greek-speaking people lived for many centuries and created a special type of dance music often played on the bowed kemence with the rhythms of the daouli (tupan drum.) Brent & Maria have been part of Portland's Balkan music scene for many years before traveling to Greece & learning Pontic music. We hope you enjoy it.
Brent Geary - kemence
Maria Noel - daouli
