In this online masterclass lasting two hours, you will learn two contrasting songs from different ethnographic regions in Bulgaria, one fast song from Northern Bulgaria and one fast song from Shopluk. Gergana’s teaching will focus on technique, placement and authentic ornamentation specific to these regions.
You’ll be provided with lyrics in both Cyrillic and Latin letters, with translations in English and cultural context. The recording of the Zoom masterclass will be sent to all participants for your continued learning after the workshop. Songs will be taught by ear and singers of all abilities are welcome.
