TO REAGAN GALA

There
was a good rumor
going around earlier
this year that our
musical
entertainment for
the Reagan Day Gala
would, somehow, also
give tribute to the
King of Pop.
As
our friends at the
Examiner have
reported, our
concert pianist for
the evening of
Jan.
24th is a Michael
Jackson fan who will
be wearing an outfit
inspired by what
Jackson wore to the
White House shortly
before his death.
Below
is a portion of the
article by the
Examiner:
Reuel
plays and composes
improvisational
classical piano pieces
in a pleasing style that
had music fans filling
the Four Seasons
Austin's Trio bar late
last year for an event.
During the Gala Tuesday,
the musician will play a
custom-built piano while
wearing a Michael
Jackson-inspired
ensemble (see slideshow
on left) similar to what
the singer wore to the
White House before his
untimely death.
Michael Barnes's Austin-American
Statesman article
on Reuel last year
quoted him on his
writing process:
"I
create pieces on the fly
as if dreaming," he
says. "I can tap into
that subconscious state
while playing, like a
lucid musical
dream."...."Like Danny
Elfman, I improvise as I
watch the movie, then
score it."
A
true artist in every
sense of the word,
Reuel will also be
playing a piano he
had custom-built
prior to Tuesday's
