Changes, Paradigm Shifts, and New Directions

Austin Tech Republicans evolved over the years and we are marking out some new directions.  Downplaying Google Groups is one of those changes.  You can see from the Views that this medium does not get a lot of traffic for us.  We started here.  We were comfortable with the Usenet experience.  But this is the 21st century and everyone is on Facebook.  (Granted, we at ATR are already contemplating "What is next? Beyond social media."  More on that later.)  

As the communications person for the group this year, I will post updates to Google Groups; but that is mostly a matter of archiving and history.  The hot stuff is on Facebook.   Myself, I am not a Facebook person. However, the social reality is that everyone else is.  So, I will get familiar with it, too.  See you there.
