Hi all-

Our (cc'ing my wife Jessica) son is a rising pre-k-4 student at Cleveland ES. The school would like to do a block party before the school year starts to begin to welcome kids and families back for the year, tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 18.

We've been working with the school to help them get the necessary signatures and forms to allow the block party. We just found out yesterday that we need many more signatures than initially thought to get approval from the city to close the block. And it has to be from residents of the 1800 block of 8th St. NW. The closure would last from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Given our proximity to the school, we've been tasked with getting additional signatures.If you're willing to support the school and its students, we'd love to get your signature on the form. One of us can drop by your house to get the signature, or feel free to stop by our house at 1846 8th St. You can also call or text me at 706-302-8404 or Jess at 254-405-4921 if you want to arrange a time to meet. 

The school would like to return the form by the end of the week (Friday, August 4) so this has time to get processed by the city.
