Nintendo DS sales keep ahead of PSP in Japan

Nintendo Co.'s Nintendo DS handheld kept ahead of Sony Corp.'s PSP in
the latest Japan hardware tally.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the DS sold 61,242 units
between Sept. 15 and Sept. 21 to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the
week.
By comparison, the PSP sold 28,674 units to rank at No. 3 in the same
period.
The DS ranked the top-selling game title for the week, Pokemon
Platinum, which sold an additional 314,796 units for the week.
Nintendo in Sept. released a new Metallic Silver DS to U.S. retail.
Sony in Oct. will introduce a new PSP-3000 model in the new Ratchet
and Clank PSP Entertain
