Dear Charles,
First - thank you! Since last week the city council has heard from hundreds of people like you who support making Nickerson Street safer for everyone. Please join us tomorrow morning to stand up for safety on Nickerson and citywide.
We recently learned that since Stone Way has reduced injury collisions by a third, the number of pedestrians hit has dropped an astonishing 80%, and bicycling has increased 35%! That project would have been stymied without the help of hundreds of people like you.
And a similar project on Nickerson Street has drawn opposition from the usual suspects. You can read more on the Bike Blog.
Our City Council needs to know this project is a symbol of what we need to do all over Seattle.
Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8, 9:30am, at City Council Chambers on the 2nd Floor of City Hall.
Together, we will stand in support of the Nickerson project as one step in our campaign to provide more transportation choices.
You can help clear the way for a new transportation vision that makes our streets safer for everyone.
Thank you,
David Hiller
